AVEDISIAN RECEIVES ENDORSEMENT OF
THE REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian today received the endorsement of the Republican Leadership Council.
Former New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman and former United States Senator Jack Danforth (R – Missouri) were the hosts for the announcement, which was held in St. Paul Minnesota.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Republican Leadership Council and to be part of an event hosted by two of my political heroes – Governor Chrsitie Whitman and Senator Jack Danforth. These two leaders epitomize the principles of people before politics, and I am happy to be part of their team,” Avedisian said.
Governor Whitman originally formed a group called It’s My Party Too, before merging that group into the Republican Leadership Council. Mayor Avedisian was endorsed by It’s My Party Too in his 2006 race for re-election.

Inspired by a drive to get back to the fundamentals of the Republican Party, Senator John Danforth, Lt. Governor Michael Steele, and Governor Christine Todd Whitman created the political organization the Republican Leadership Council, which advocates for the historic Republican principles of liberty, individual responsibility, and personal freedom.
RLC-PAC's vision is a Republican Party that is unified by the basic tenets of fiscal responsibility and personal freedom, but that allows for diverse opinions on social issues by its members.
Avedisian is the only Rhode Island candidate to be endorsed by this organization.
